Heliskiing in Trient

Yesterday I whent heliskiing in Switzerland with Asmus Norreslet and his clients at Norreslet Mountaineering. Two rotations up to the Trient Glacier and from there we whent skitouring up to Glacier Grand. Due to wind effected snow we traversed over to Glacier Bron and had a great time in soft snow. Finishing of in the Trient village.

Skitouring below Aguille du Tour.

Skitouring Flegere

Went skitouring with a couple of friends from Ă–stersund/Sweden, the other day. Henke, Marcus, David and myself found a nice run down from Encrenaz. Great run through colouirs and some fantastic powder fields down towards Le Buet. Had a good time i Le Buet, meeting friends from other tours, drinking coffee.

Marcus Wassdal making the best out of the good snow on the backside of Encrenaz.

Glacier course

Earlier this week I worked with norwegian students teaching the basics of glacier travel and rescue. 4 days of great weather and also really good skiing...

Jossi getting first tracks down from col de flambeu towards Italian side of Valle blanche.

The course also involved basic skitouring on glaciers. Here touring with Aguille du midi in the background.

Today we skied from col de Entreves straight down to Entreves glacier in excellent conditions. Great day finished of with Italian pasta on the Hellbronner mid station. Take care out there!

Additional stress to snowpack (click here)

A very good illustration how a snowslope can seem safe after a few runs of skiing. (Even holds a small drop to begin with but the skier sticks the landing.) When nr 5 goes in he is putting more stress to the slope when jumping and falling down the slope...

Online Avalanche course

Just found a great Avalanche First Response Training course on the web. I posted a link among the other links below. It doesn't cost anything and is very well made. Just go through all the different links and videos along the way and start from the beginning... The course is pretty well made so set off some time to make it properly. Good luck!

Snowing hard in Chamonix

Hello! After a week of good skiing with Jesper and Linus, who paid a visit from Stockholm, it's time to focus on a new year wich just arrived. Yesterday's skiing on Helbronner finished with a little heliride when my wife injured her knee up on the glacier. Hopefully she's back on skiis in a few weeks. It could have started a little bit better!
At the moment it's snowing really hard in Chamonix and outside my window there is at least 30 cm of fresh powder. The mountains has also got a lot of new snow from the recent snowfalls so the conditions are getting really good. See you out there!

Happy new year

Happy new year from snowy chamonix!
We've been skiing powder for a few days now and it's still snowing alot. The conditions up high will improve after the last heavy snowfalls and we look forward to get up on higher altitude as soon as the snow conditions get more predictable. After some mild temperatures it's also starting to get colder..
