Chamonix christmas

Spending christmas in chamonix means powder skiing on Grand montets in the morning, christmas lunch on Chambre neuf, donald duck on South bar and a great christmas dinner at Magnus mansion. Finished of with a great skimovie and chocolate. At least for me... Celebrating the whole day with Magnus and his kids (Jack, Oliver and Sofia) was really nice. We even managed to organize a close to classic swedish christmas dinner in the evening! Happy christmas!

Hiking back after some tree skiing on Grand Montets. Oliver, Jack and Magnus (last).

Magnus Strand in the Lavancher bowl. The snow was just perfect and it was not to many people competing!

Grand Montets

The last few days has been great on Grand Montets. With a firm base, most of the Mid mountain runs are pretty good. Specialy now with the last snow falls. The only thing right know is that the wind and temperature has been increasing (since yesterday) so we will have higher avalanche risk aswell. Ciao

My car is getting snowed in!

Great turns in the very classic Lavancher bowl

Lyngen 2010

As usual I'm planning to spend some time in Lyngen and Tromsö this year and the spring is already getting booked by skiers who whant's to see the fantastic landscape and ski the beautiful mountains up there. April and May will be specially reserved for the Lyngen Alps. If you are interested in the skitouring in Lyngen you can visit www.ascentdescent.com where you will find a rough program and more details. Here are some pictures from last season.

On the drive out to the northern end of The Lyngen peninsula you find this old house... you have Ulstinden in the background wich is a great skitouring peak on the other side of the fjord.

Henrik Sjöblom (freerider from the early days) watching the possibilities

On our way to ski the Westface couloir on Jiekkevarri (1834m), wich is the highest peak in Northern Norway. You find this peak on the southern part of Lyngen.

Taking a well deserved lunch break on Veidalsfjellet wich is a great skitouring peak on the northern part of Lyngen.

3 days on Helbronner

Tre days of skiing from the Helbronner lift on the other side of the Mt.blanc tunnel has been a great start of the season. Cold as never before, good snow, great friends and sunny days... First day me, Wolfgang and Eva did a few runs on the Toule glacier. 2nd day Kaj hooked up and we skied the southface of the Entreves cutting back to the Toule glacier. 3rd day me and John went through and met Peje, Sandra and jocke. We skied the southface from col the entreves but this time down on the Entreves glacier, slightly more exposed on the top but what a run... Extreme low temperatures the last few days. Here is some pics...
